A Word To The Wise

I don't make posts like this often. I find it is best to challenge authority at any chance that you can get. rolling over and letting the man do what they want to is exactly what they expect of us. When we do that, they get everything that they want. I'm strictly against that but times have changed. The introduction of The Peacekeeper Protocol has started and it is a bloodbath. People who have no business carrying out the authority of the law killing indiscriminately is already bad enough but now we're putting power into the hands of malicious people. People who deem that revenge is a good enough reason to take a life.

Don't get me wrong if someone kills your family, you should return that pain tenfold but that's not what's happening here.  What we are seeing is people using this ability to get back at people. An abusive relationship ends and the boyfriend can kill his ex because he knows that she has not updated her registration fees on a car.  not only does he get away with the crime but he gets paid for it. We already had mercenary work and assassinations in the streets, but usually that only happened when you pissed off someone and you deserved it. At a minimum they had to pay a decent amount of eddies to make it happen.

At this point in time there's people who have been killed for less than a Scop Burger. Less than 20 eddies is what a life can be worth for these people. Can we not come together as a society to see how fucked up that is? I know the way the city is supposed to be. Look out for yourself first so you know when the friends you trust second are ready to stab you in the back. This city does bad things to good people and rewards bad people with the best of the world.

That is how corporations stay in power. That is how the gangs ruin lives. 

There is no amount of fingers that we can point at each other to make up for what has happened. Each and every one of us in this city is to blame for some piece of this coming to pass. More than anything else I want to propose a riot at the city council. I want people to know that we won't stand for this. I understand the risks of what this means for all of us.

 Doing this puts each and every one of our lives on the line who shows up to this event but how else do we show that we had enough? How else do we stick it to the man if they want to keep us down? 

Is it worth the risk? Fuck no. People will die if we do this. 

The bodies will line the streets but you can’t just let people like this get away with things. They are the problem with this city and I say no more. No more oppression. No more control. If we have to set fire to the corpos and break shit, I saw we do it. 

EyeFind will disagree with me. It is not our place. We are above the law. DeadTap will want to keep it subtle. To silence me because I got too loud. No More!

I would rather have thousands of bodies in the street and let them know that we will not stand for this then let them get away with it for one more fucking day. If you care, if you listen, if you risk it all for meaning something for just one god damn minute then you will be down at Night City Council on the 23rd at Noon.

This may be the last time I am signing in, but let it be known that I will die for my cause before I bend over and get fucked by the people who disagree. Cut the red tape, never listen to orders, and fuck up everything. May this city listen or may it fall at our hands.

Helix Atelier Group Having A Bad Day

Been a minute sense you heard from me but I have been busy. Sometimes things come up that you just can’t turn down and this was one of those opportunities. I won’t get into details because that is not the reason that you come to read anything I say. You come here to get corporate dirt and this is a big one that I didn’t expect to hear. 

Have you heard of the Helix Atelier Group? If not, I get it. Let me fill in the gaps for you. An old money fashion corp. One of those types that has had roots in Night City as early as 2020 and they have just been coasting off of that legacy as long as anyone can remember. They made some pretty decent stuff, kept up well enough with other corps like Sudo but never got involved in the The Fashion Corp Wars drama that happened at the beginning of the year. You might notice that I used a little past tense there? Well that is because they just got hit and it was hard. 

The Static Bloom is well known enough in this city if you do just a little bit of digging. They are an anti-corporation group that shifted into more of a terrorist cell after losing one of their well respected members, Cassian Cipher. It used to be more of an inconvenience to corporations, exposing work force violations and stolen work. A modern day robinhood type who made sure the little guy got what they deserved. 

Well under some new leadership there is nothing about it that cares about “the little guy” Bombings at public events, assassinations, and as we see now mass scale corporate takedowns. 

On the night of The Night City Council Gala while people must have been distracted, they hit them for all they had. It is one thing to have your corporation hit. Usually you have to pay a hefty ransom, deal with some real bullshit, and send out a client notice that customers might have lost their credit card info. Nothing PR can’t fix but this attack was particularly malicious. 

They seized bank accounts tied to the company, gunned down employees, and if that was not bad enough they took the company database and just leaked it across the CitiNet. Forms across the entire city now know the inner workings of the Helix Atelier Group, inside and out. I am not even a corporate supporter for the most part. I am a hit case media but I can’t help but feel bad for them. At least a little bit

Mind you this is before I have had time to read every document that leaked so if it turns out they are sex traffickers or something like that, I will retract this statement. 

Been one hell of a weekend huh?
